Mui Choy Kau Yoke

Satay - Beef & Chicken

The verdicts:
  • Beef was tender (a bit dry due to it was in the fridge overnight and was heated up in microwave.)
  • Chicken was still juicy and tender.
  • Tend to bite into some bits of blended lemongrass as it was part of the meat marination.
  • Gravy very nutty and creamy. Combine with the sambal provide, it make the perfect match.

Simple dinner - Steamed Crabs and Steamed Otak-Otak.

Went to Puteri Mart wet market and got a pack of pre-packed Otak-Otak and 2 crabs.

    • Doesn't have the homemade taste - lemongrass, chili, shallots and santan.

    • After a few bites, it's ok.
    • Lots of fish fillets in small pieces.
    • It's firm even though I steamed it a bit longer than I should.

One of our favorite dishes - Steamed Crabs. Hubby & I like eating fresh steamed crabs. Saw some crabs in market and decided to buy 2 which weight almost 1kg.

    • Chinese Cooking Wine

Steamed fish on high heat for 5 minutes then simmer with no heat for 5 minutes.

    The verdict - Fishes:
    • Kamkuey (Jack Fish) flesh was a bit dry for my liking. It's like the black pomfret flesh.
    • Baby Red Snapper was sweet and juicy. Nice when steamed.
    • "Dunno-What-Fish" (probably baby grouper) has the flaky flesh which I like. And it's was sweet, creamy and juicy similar to cod.
