Kedai Makan Telok Pulai Klang

Last weekend hubby & I went back to our regular place for Bak Kut Teh after months of not having Bak Kut Teh. The shop have re-located to the back row of it's original location.

As usual we ordered to same ol' same ol' - Spareribs with Intestines & Pork Maw, Fook Chook and Yau Char Kuay. Not forgetting a pot of Pu Er.

I find the intestine and pork maw were too porky this time. The spareribs was tender and juicy - no porky taste. The soup was the same as before.

The breakfast cost us RM30.90.

Fish Valley Restaurant Part 3

Two weekends ago, went to Fish Valley for fishing with hubby and BIL. We had "Loh Mee" and Fried Bihun for lunch.

It was a raining day, and was difficult for us to fish until rather late in the afternoon. Around 5pm we managed to try fishing in the pond. There were no bites, not even the Lampam.

When we were about to pack up, my line caught a fish. Thinking it was Lampam, I didn't quite bother it much - just kept reeling my line in. As the fish got closer, it started to struggle. Hubby came by to see. It wasn't a Lampam after all... It's a "Wan Yu"!!! As we hauled it up, we accidentally broke the fish lower lip. If we let go of the injured fish, it won't last long. I may die the next day or even of starvation (coz it doesn't have the lower lip :p). Told hubby might as well get the pond helpers to clean it and cut us for us.

Since it's dinner time and BIL was with us, we took it over to the restaurant and got them to cook the fish for us.

Photobucket
Steamed Wan Yu. Cost us RM10.00 to cook it. The fish weighed at 1.6kg.

Photobucket
Stir Fried Kangkung Belacan.

Photobucket
Steamed 3-type of Eggs - chicken egg, century egg & salted egg.

We had some pretty nice dinner that night.

Siew Yoke Rice @ Pudu

This my 1st time to Pudu for it's Siew Yoke Rice. I heard of this place for a while now. I never did enjoy Siew Yoke much until I tried these...

Photobucket

Photobucket
I like the rice texture and the fragrance of the ginger and fried shallots.

Photobucket
We had 2 stripes of the Siew Yoke and half Roasted Chicken.

Photobucket
See the combination of the lean and fats??? The skin were crunchy and meat were succulent.

After lunch, we drove to Pudu Plaza to "dabao" the Rojak Buah. See the yumminess???

Fish Valley Restaurant Part 2

The second time we were at Fish Valley Restaurant was again during one of our fishing session.

We had Haruan this time. The smallest Haruan they had was 1kg!!! The captain recommended to have 2 dishes out of the 1 Haruan.

Photobucket
Stir Fried Haruan Fillet with ginger and scallion. The Haruan was so fresh. Portion was again BIG - it was from 1kg fish!!!

Photobucket
The leftover parts were used for soup - Haruan with "Hum Choy" Tofu Soup. It was the most delicious soup I had with the deep fried Haruan sweetness.

This meal cost us RM 56.00 with steamed rice and drinks and dessert. They did not charge us extra for the 2 dishes. Basically we were paying for the weight of the fish - which is 1kg. Price of Haruan is RM5.00 per 100gm.

Both hubby and I managed to finish the 1st dish. We had so much leftover from the soup that we got them to doggy bagged it for us.

Fish Valley Restaurant Part 1

First time to Fish Valley Restaurant was after our fishing session. Both hubby & I decided to have our lunch there.

Didn't know what to order coz everything in the menu look darn great!!!

Photobucket
Thai-style ABC cost RM4.00 per bowl. It's super refreshing and delicious.

As a first timer, we didn't know what's the serving size like, as only 2 of us eating. So decided to order 3 dishes, all in small portion.

Photobucket
Stir fried Pucuk Paku with belacan. It has good "wok hei" but a bit salty to our taste.

Photobucket
Ma Poh Tofu. Really spicy when you request for spicy... heheh... It's also a bit too salty to our liking. Luckily we order steamed rice to go with the dishes.

Photobucket
Steamed Baung (Pak Sou Kong) with ginger and garlic. Was perfectly done. Sauce was not salty as the other 2 dishes. Fish was fresh. Doesn't have the muddy taste. RM4.00 per kilo. The size we had was about 500gm, which is quite big for 2 person.

Overall the food ain't too bad if they lessen the salt. And the portion served were HUGE!!! 3 dishes we had fits for 4 person!!!

Penang Trip Makan-Makan Part 3

The next morning we went to Kek Lok See Temple. Before that we managed to stop by the market nearby to have breakfast. After the tasteless Assam Laksa the night before, was searching for some Assam Laksa in the morning. Was told there's a famous Assam Laksa stall near the market but only opens after 10am. So, went around the market area searching for Assam Laksa but can't find any... :p

We ended up having these instead...

Hubby had Koay Teow Th'ng.

Photobucket

Photobucket
I had Curry Noodle. Simple yet delicious.

After makan, we went walk around Kek Lok See Temple, it's been years since I was there. Can't remember much about the temple. Were there for about an hour. Then decided to go off for some more makan. Still can't find the Assam Laksa :p

Before going back to the hotel to check-out (we requested for late check-out), we went for Char Koay Teow.

Photobucket
Love the Char Koay Teow. It doesn't have the dark soy sauce taste like those standard Char Koay Teow. It has some nice succulent prawns and cockles. And top with fresh crab meat.

Photobucket
Steamed Otak-otak was a bit pricey for the size. Hardly get any fish fillet in it. But has the perfect texture for the sauce.

That was all our makan session over the 2 days. Will go back Penang for another makan session some time again.

Penang Trip Makan-Makan Part 2

Dinner we went to the hawker center near Sunway Hotel. Lots of people. Variety food!!!

For starter, we had dessert!!!

Photobucket
Hubby had Leng Chee Kang and I had Sze Ko T'ng. They look and taste similar :p

Photobucket
Super refreshing Ambra (Kedondong) Juice!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket
Popiah - gooooood...

Photobucket

Photobucket
Hubby had Chee Cheong porridge. It was tasty initially. But as you continue eating, it tasted porky and the intestine was a bit too soft.

Photobucket

Photobucket
I had Assam Laksa. It's so bland that I can't taste the sourness nor the spiciness. What a disappointment.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Super spicy!!! Yummilious!!!

Penang Trip Makan-Makan Part 1

Hubby & I did a trip to Penang in October. Our 1st stop was over Kepala Batas to attend a wedding kenduri. After the makan session, we head down to Penang Island to check in to the hotel.

Photobucket
Makan from the wedding kenduri

After checking in the hotel, we drove to Tanjong Tokong to start our makan session.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Super sweet coconut juice.

Photobucket
Before : Cockles were boiled in sea water.

Photobucket
The cockles were cooked perfectly - so juicy and succulent. It wasn't over nor under cooked.

Photobucket
After : Took us less then 15 minutes to clean the plate, while waiting for the rest of the dishes.

Photobucket
Baked prawns in salt. Prawns were a bit small but they're juicy.

Photobucket
Baked crabs in salt.

Photobucket
Empty plates. Full tummy. Happy couple... :D

Tenji2 Puchong

Went to the new Tenji2 in Bandar Puteri Puchong when they just open last month. Was a little disappointed with their very few selection. Especially the sashimi coz both hubby & I enjoyed sashimi.

Compared their selection with Jogoya & Shogun Pyramid... it was total out of place. The buffet line were to scatted around.

Tenji2 was made up by a few shop lots (3-4 lots) and they were wall partition between the lots. So when you walk in to their 1st floor all you see was the appetizer and sashimi. For other hot & cold, steamboat and dessert, you'll have to walk to next "door". Was not an ideal layout for buffet line.

Photobucket

Photobucket
For every table, they served this shell fish complimentary. It's super tiny for 2 person :p
