Restaurant Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh

Bak Kut Teh at Seng Huat was different from those we regular at in Puchong.

This restaurant is also known to many as the "Under the Bridge Bak Kut Teh".

At Seng Huat, dishes were serve in bowl not the usual claypot. It was our first time there, didn't quite know what to order. We ended up with a bowl of "sai kuat & pai kuat" mixed, a bowl of belly, a bowl of intestine and a bowl of "yau char kuai" - all in small portion.

The verdict:-
  • Rice ("yau fun") is fragrant. You'll get to taste the fried shallots in the rice.
  • Dishes come in with little soup. Additional soup comes in a small plastic bowl (usually used by restaurant when called for "sai fun").
  • Soup slightly thicker than usual Bak Kut Teh.
  • Has very strong Chinese herbs taste.
  • Used quite a bit of garlic in the broth. You'll get the garlic after-taste lingering in the mouth.
  • Meat wise, falling off from the bones. Soft and succulent. No porky smell nor taste.
  • Hollow intestine was good. It's soft and doesn't smell.
  • Price was reasonable. For 2 persons with the below dishes, the bill came up to RM28.50
