Restoran BB Ho Steamboat @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

P & C invited hubby & I for dinner over the weekend to celebrate P's birthday. They decided to have steamboat at BB Ho Steamboat.

Honestly, after trying and been having steamboat at Lo Maji, I wasn't to thrill to have any other sort of steamboat in town. Lo Maji's spicy steamboat is an acquired taste dish. Once you have... you tend to have more. Well, that applies only to me and hubby :p We're addicted to Lo Maji. At one time we were there almost every week!!! Hubby & I sworn to only have our fix not more than once a month :p So far we succeeded :D

Side track a little there. Well, back to dinner at BB Ho Steamboat. Where was I? Oh, like I was saying I wasn't too thrill when I heard of BB Ho Steamboat. Anyhow I should give it a try to see if its any different from the rest of the steamboat house.

Hokkien Fried Bihun with Lala.

Photobucket
Soup based Steamboat. Ingredients for 4 people include Yee Mee, Bihun & Eggs.

The verdicts:
  • Hokkien Fried Bihun with Lala was too salty for my tastebud.
  • Lala were small and hard to find.
  • Steamboat broth has too much MSG - artificial pork bones "taste".
  • As we continue eating, the broth got saltier ("tastier") due to the ingredients. When we got to the noodles, I couldn't even have another sip of the soup.

La Risata Bar Pizzeria Ristorante @ Medan Damansara

Hubby & Bro celebrated me birthday at La Risata, an Italian restaurant, last week. I've not been to the restaurant for almost 2 years. It's changed so much. From a single shoplot now they expanded to 2 shoplots. The feeling is still the same. Cozy, homey feeling. But I find it a bit dim compared to before. Most of the staff there were still the same and friendly. Speaking of friendliness, the mosquitos there were extremely friendly with me that night :p As I was enjoying my meal, they were enjoying my legs :p LOL...

Bei King Restaurant @ Sitiawan Part 2

After the disappointing lunch at Restoran Tien & Tien last month, we decided to go back to our regular join Bei King Restaurant to have lunch over the weekends. It was Dad's treat :)

Photobucket
Tofu Soup

Verdicts:
  • Was disappointed with the soup as the taste was not the usual traditional Foochow Tofu Soup tasting.
  • Was a wee bit salty for everyone's liking.
Photobucket
Stir Fried Dou Miew

Verdicts:
  • It has the "wok hei" in this stir fried.
  • Simple yet delicious.

Photobucket
Sweet & Sour Fish Fillet

Verdicts:
  • Don't know why these days they put in the french fries in this dish. I preferred the one without french fries. It sorta killed the taste a little. French fries just has to go on it's own with a dash of salt as snack NOT cook in/with other dishes.
  • Other than the french fries, the fish fillet was juicy.

Photobucket
Oyster Omelet

Verdicts:
  • It has lots of small to medium size oysters. In each bite, you get oysters.
  • It wasn't fluffy. You get the taste of the egg with scallion.

Photobucket
Mom's recommendation : Prawns wrap in Beancurd Sheet Roll

Verdicts:
  • Yummilicious!
  • Prawns were fresh and succulent.
  • Rolls were fried just nicely - crispy on the outside and juicy sweet in the inside.
  • The chili sauce adds a little punch to it.

Total bill came up to RM61.00 for 4 pax with a pot of chrysanthemum tea (free refill).

Medan Ikan Bakar Teluk Muroh @ Lumut

Midnight supper.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Ikan Bakar Pari

Verdicts:
  • Typical home BBQ squid. Marinate only with salt.
  • Marinated with only salt.
  • Sambal was exceptionally spicy. It has belacan, chili padi and tamarin. However, the sambal tasted a bit of overstuffed refrigerator.
Photobucket
Sotong Bakar

Verdicts:
  • The inner was not thoroughly cleaned.
  • Typical home BBQ squid. Marinate only with salt.
  • Chili sauce was not a good combination to go with the squid.

Total cost us RM20.00 for 2 person. We had 500gm Pari, 100gm Sotong, 2 Teh O Ais Limau.

Breakfast @ Kg. Sitiawan

Was back in Sitiawan over the weekends. Decided to explore new place to have our breakfast. We've seen this hut along Jalan Besar, Kg. Sitiawan a few times but never did give it a try until now.

This little hut is always crowded during the breakfast rush. Cars will be parking along the road.

Photobucket
The back portion of the hut is facing a river.

Photobucket
See the amount of roti canai? First thing the patrons order is the roti canai, next nasi lemak.

Photobucket
Variety kuih-muih, nasi lemak, mee goreng and bihun goreng.

Photobucket
Nasi Lemak Ikan (see the tiny piece of fish?)

Verdicts:
  • Rice has very little santan fragrantness.
  • Sambal was spicy and has a tinge of sweetness to it.
  • Very basic nasi lemak like I used to have in school days.

Photobucket
Roti Canai comes with only single type of gravy

Verdicts:
  • Roti canai buttery tasting.
  • Doesn't have the typical Indian-style roti canai texture.
  • Comes with only single curry gravy.
Cost us RM5.90. We had 1 Teh O Ais, 1 Kopi Ais, 2 Roti Canai and 2 Nasi Lemak Ikan.

Prosperity Burger @ McDonald

Once a year burger. However, the size seems getting smaller each year. How to be prosperous lah...???

  • Doesn't taste a bit like the Foochow traditional tofu soup.
  • Too watery.

  • First couple of taste was tasty. But after a while I got "jelak" with it. It's too creamy and oily from the butter.

Verdicts:

There's a stall selling wantan mee. It serves the most tastiest wantan mee. It comes in 3 sizes - small (RM4.00), medium (RM4.50) and big (RM4..80).

Photobucket

Photobucket
This the medium portion wantan mee.

Verdicts :
  • The sauce mix is not too salty nor sweet. Just the right mix with a tinge of pepper.
  • Noodle ineither dry nor over cook. It has just the right "Q" texture.
  • Char Siew was done char-grilled and boiled-over. It's so tender and juicy. It melts in the mouth.
  • Noodle is served with boiled bayam.
